The objectives for this micro-credential is to focus on a better understanding of the business world and demonstrate the relevance of economics for business decisions and management of organizations.

  1. Discuss the changes in industrial structure, the concept of business objectives, profit maximization, business ethics and corporate governance
  2. Discuss consumer behavioral theories, factors that affect the demand for an organization’s product or service, estimation and forecasting techniques of demand, pricing policies and strategies for organizations operating under various market conditions
  3. Examine the concepts of perfect competition, monopolistic competition and oligopoly with consideration of how the structure of markets can influence theoretical and practical pricing decisions with social costs, social benefits and government intervention as a way of controlling market failure
  4. Investigate managerial decision making with common investment appraisal techniques under risk and uncertainty circumstance
