Synopsis:

This module provides students with a sound understanding of cognitive psychology as a preparation for practice in the field. The module will focus on attention, perception and memory with relevant laboratory activities to enrich theoretical knowledge and applications to real life problems.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of the module, the student is expected to be able to:

  1. Discuss and explain the major theories relating to attention.
  2. Discuss and explain the major theories of perception.
  3. Discuss and explain the major theories of memory; remembering, forgetting and association.
  4. Apply theories of cognitive psychology to problems involving attention, perception and memory.
