Synopsis:
Students often rely on the computer to realize graphic ideas, especially in graphic and multimedia design, Visual Studies provides students with a range of hand- made mark / image making alternatives to digital graphic making. Students will be trained to produce visually engaging graphics for visual communication purposes by using materials / techniques innovatively and by experimenting the possibilities of visual representations. However, students will also investigate ways of re-incorporating hand-made graphics back into their computer-based design practices.

- Create visually engaging hand-made graphics.
- Adapt and extend their visual design styles to include non-computer based mark / image making techniques.
- Explore and utilize unconventional materials and process in producing suitable visual representations for specific communication purposes.
